Lower bounds for a conjecture of erdos and turan on additive bases

Let $A\subset {\mathbb{N}}$ be an asymptotic additive basis, and $r(n)$ the number of representations of $n$ as sums of two elements of $A$, counting order. We prove that there are infinitely many $n$ such that $r(n)>5$.
